Almost certainly you are missing OpenSSL headers (there must have been
an error message about missing header, but you did not send it to
me - why?).

Install openssl development packages of your distribution
or install OpenSSL from source.

In future, please also report the version number of your Net::SAML / zxid
package as well as output of uname -a
