My Departure

Dear Friends:
On Friday, August 12, I accepted a job offer as Assistant Division Administrator in the FHWA Texas Division.  The decision to leave my current position was not an easy one.  While the prospect of working in a progressive state with large transportation project, innovative funding partnerships and professional people offers an exciting challenge for me, the idea of leaving one of the best programs, not to mention the fine people of this great program, was particularly difficult.  

Frankly, I am confident that by following the strategic direction we set forth and the principles of communication and teamwork we initiated, this Program will continue to flourish well into the future.  

The old adage remains true:  you can take this man out of LTAP/TTAP, but you will never take LTAP/TTAP out of this man.    

It has been a distinct pleasure serving you.  Don't dismiss me just yet, though-I will be around through mid-November--and there is still work to be done (like hiring the new Program Manager!).
