Reminder and New Info

T2ALL

Just a reminder of Dave Fluharty's previous message on our new Winter
Maintenance listserve which was as follows:

 >Hi T2All and Snow-Ice,

 >Participants in a recent "Winter Maintenance Technical Peer Exchange"
recommended establishing an electronic mailing list >to foster a dialogue
among winter operations trainers. The UNH Tē Center has established the Win
Ops Trainers list, which >operates similar to the T2All and Snow-Ice lists.
It is open to private and public trainers, and people
specifically >interested in winter operations training. There is no cost.

 >To subscribe send a message in the following format:
 > To: ListProc@lists.unh.edu
 > Subj:

 > subscribe winops.trainers [yourname]

 >Leave the subject line blank, and insert your name for "[yourname]." The
server
 >will read you email address. If you have any problems, contact
kclaytor@unh.edu.

 >Regards, Dave

Also, one of the last messages on WinOps was from Dick Hanneman of the Salt
Institute referring to a discussion during the recent (MARCH) Winter
Maintenance Technical Peer Exchange held in PA. His message was as follows:

 >To: Winter Maintenance trainers:

 >At this week's meeting of the National LTAP Association, I was reminded
 >by LTAP trainers that the NLTAPA-sponsored Winter Maintenance Peer
 >Exchange this past April identified the Salt Institute's website as the
 >go-to-first (portal) for information on winter maintenance training. To
 >ensure we meet your needs, I would renew a general plea to pass along
 >information to be shared on our website, but most of all encourage you
 >to notify me of the schedule of your winter maintenance training
 >workshops and expos. I include them on our "Salt Industry Calendar" at
 >http://www.saltinstitute.org/23.html and would invite you to check there
 >to see where other training sessions are being held.

 >Let me know how else we can support your vital efforts.

The Winter Maintenance Technical Peer Exchange involved representatives
from FHWA, State DOTs, and LTAP/T2 Centers. I am completing the Final
Report at this time and it should become available through the LTAP
Clearinghouse and the Salt Institute website. Look for it soon!

If you were not in Dubuque last week, you really missed a great conference.

As Always,
Alan
