I have attached a rough draft of information that we will
be collecting for our Class VI Roads Study.
Our Committee would like to set up a Database for all of this
information, and more, if needed.
One example would be for: By Prescription (i.e.
Stone Walls, Old
Fences, Brush Lines,
Utility Structures including
Cross Arms, Drainage,
Mowing Areas and Snow
Storage Areas, etc.) One could go into the
Database and look for only the roads with, say Fences, and only
those roads with Fences would appear.
I guess we would need to be looking for database programs, called relational database programs or RDBMSs, they are designed to handle multi-file databases. FileMaker Pro is a relational database that's easy to use and fairly inexpensive. There is also, Approach by Lotus, Paradox by Corel, & Access by Microsoft. Does anyone have a Database Program already set up for their Class VI Roads??? The Town of Tamworth Class VI Roads Study Committee, would appreciate any assistance possible. Dave Haskell |
