re: 2006 NH DES Drinking Water Supply Protection Workshop - May 18th (9-3:30 pm)


NH DES's 2006 Drinking Water Supply Protection Workshop is scheduled for Thursday, May 18th (9:00 - 3:30 pm) and will cover topics including findings from a statewide MTBE risk assessment, a summary of how to develop local septic system management programs, results last year's statewide auto salvage inspection program completed by DES, bioretention research and design, and wellhead protection plans and site plan techniques for protecting water supply. The workshop is designed for local community development and water supply management professionals.  Topics will include: 

	*	Review of state legislation affecting drinking water 
	*	Starting a Local Septic System Management Program
	*	Findings from a Statewide MTBE risk assessment
	*	Site Plan Review Techniques to Protect Water Supply 
	*	Applied Bedrock Mapping Techniques 
	*	Wellhead Protection Plans
