Hello All,
The Town of Washington is involved in moving a
historic house off its foundation and moving it to a new site. In doing so the
mover will be required to slide the house onto State Highway Rt. 31 and will be
blocking the road on Thursday March 30, 2006. After speaking with the DOT
District engineer they would like us to use 2 engine driven message boards to
notify trucks that the road will be closed for 3-4 hours to thru-trucks. The DOT
does not loan municipalities this type of equipment however.
Are there any Towns out there with this type of
equipment that would allow the Washington Highway Department to borrow these
signs for a couple of days? I would make arrangements to pick them up and return
them if that is possible.
Please contact me via e-mail or I may be paged
through our dispatch center at 464-3644. We were unaware of the potential road
closing until today and would need the signs in place for tomorrow morning.
