Hi Paul,
One of the conditions of approval for new
projects in Laconia
is that the applicant must sign a construction inspection agreement with Public
Works before any site work commences.
Depending on the size of the project, we require the applicant to front
anywhere from $500 to several thousand dollars in escrow. We charge $30 per hour for our
inspectors and our office manager keeps track of the balance based on reports
submitted by our inspectors. Any
funds in escrow not spent at the end of the project are returned to the
developer. On some of the larger
projects, the developer usually has to get billed above what was initially put
in escrow. Hope this helps.

Subject: Subdivision Inspection
charges
I've been asked to compile hourly rates that other towns
charge for inspections of subdivisions and other work done by developers.
Any replies would be appreciated.
Thank you
